Louisa Houston Earp Peters was the wife of Morgan Seth Earp ( of the Ok Corral famed Earps) and Los Angeles/Long Beach Shipyard foreman, Gustave Peters.

Many questionable things have been repeated by many about Lou in Earpiana. These things left to both modern day speculation and Earpiana lore include that Lou was the Granddaughter of Sam Houston, as well as that she and her sister were Harvey Girls in Kansas before meeting Morgan. One thing that cannot be proven, however as fact or folly, was that Morgan was the love of her life, and she actually died of a broken heart.

"Lou" as she was known by for many years, was at the home of the senior Earps in Colton/Temescal California when her husband Morgan was murdered in Tombstone, Arizona. After Morgan's death, Louisa, remained in southern California. She would go on to marry Gustav Peters in 1885 and died at Long Beach, California.

Louisa was only in her late thirties when she died. Although California Vital Statistics states that she had died of "Nephritis and Diarrhea", letters exchange between between Gustav Peters and Louisa's sister Agnes tell a different story. Gustav writes that Louisa died of a "3-year bout with Sciatic Rheumatism to which Dropsy added itself to the ending sufferings" (Provenance are in the letters which are owned by Houston descendant, Lyman Hanley)

Once lost, her gravestone was restored by Tom Gaumer and Kenny "The Kid" Vail. She is located in section J Lot number 2168
