Services for Mrs. Schoettger Were Held Friday Afternoon

Mrs. Nelda Elizabeth Schoettger was born October 30, 1904, at Madison, Nebraska, the daughter of Fred J. and Lizzie Schmidt Bender. She attended the Nebraska Wesleyan University and graduated from the University of California in Los Angeles in 1927. She taught school four years in Ontario, California. Nelda was married to George Schoettger on July 14, 1931, at Huntington Park, California. Her entire married life was lived in Arlington. Here, she was a member of the Arlington Methodist Church (later the Arlington Community Church) and it’s Women’s Society, the American Legion Auxiliary and Chapter A.J. of P.E.O.

Mrs. Schoettger died on Tuesday, March 11, 1975, at her home in Arlington. She is survived by her husband, George, of Arlington; her son Richard, daughter-in-law Lorraine, grandchildren--David and Lisa, all of Columbia, Missouri; a sister-in-law, Clara Schoettger of Omaha and three nephews.

A funeral service for Nelda was held in the Arlington Community Church Friday, March 14, at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Bryce A. Hecht officiating. Pallbearers were: David Schoettger, Edward Bender, Emory Samuelson, Fred Puls, Walter Jones and Curtis Schafer. Mrs. Alvin Voss was organist. Interment was in the Arlington Cemetery.
