Alleta Louise Carlisle, age 89, of Aurora, Missouri, passed away at 5:28 p.m. on Friday, February 20, 2015, at the Mercy Hospital in Aurora. She was born January 9, 1926, in Aurora, the daughter of the late John and Pearl (Erwin) Roark. Alleta was a 1943 graduate of Aurora High School, member of the Aurora Assembly of God Church and had been attending the Southside Baptist Church in Aurora. Music was a very important part of her life and she played the piano in church and sang in a ladies trio for many years. On December 30, 1943, she married Clarence Carlisle in Purdy, Missouri. He preceded her in death on June 18, 1993. She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her two daughters, Becky Matin and Sherry Cantwell both of Aurora; three grandchildren, Natasha Johns and Dawn Stone Webb of Hilo, Hawaii, Jason Wood and his wife, Kristin, and Kyle Wood all of Blue Springs, Missouri; five great-grandchildren, Kalli, Kourtney, Trevor, Brooke and Cole; brother-in-law, Joe Carlisle and his wife, Polly, of Cassville, Missouri, and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, February 25, 2015, at the Crafton-Cantrell Funeral Home in Aurora. Burial will follow at the Maple Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 24, 2015, in the funeral home chapel. Online condolences may be shared at this website.
