DILLARD HIGH "CLASS OF 64"
Willie George Kelly truly loved and supported
his Alma mater, Dillard High School. He
was the President of the Dillard High School
Class of 1964 for more than 40 years.
We affectionately referred to him as our
"President for life". Under his leadership
the class donated more than $70, thousand
dollars in scholarships to graduating Dillard
High School seniors. And thousands more
in support of other school programs (sports
teams, performing arts programs and other
various programs).
He would frequently go into his pocket and donate to whatever Dillard program needed
funds at the time.
Our class stayed together over all of these
years because of his determination to keep
us together. He was the glue that kept us
together. He taught us the true meaning of
"giving back". When we complained about a ,
monthly meeting place he gave up his home
for our meetings.

He was soft spoken but very determined and would usually get his way about things. And although it is painful losing him we know he
left us stronger. A good Dillard soldier has fallen but the class
of 1964 will continue the legacy, just as he would have wanted. Starting in 2015, we will memorialize him with the "Willie George Kelly
Memorial Scholarship ".
