Born at Harewood near Charles Town. Attended Charles Town Academy. Studied law at White & Trapnell in Charles Town. Admitted to the West Virginia Bar at age 21. Elected as prosecuting attorney for Jefferson County in 1885 and served four consecutive terms. This memorial created by Bill Jordan.
