Erma graduated from Ogden High School in 1945 and worked until her marriage to Grant Harder Leavitt on September 4, 1947. They eloped to Ely, Nevada where they were married in the registry office.
They built their first home in Ogden, Utah in 1947. Sons, Chriss Grant, Craig Robert and Mark Thomas were all born in Ogden.
In 1955 the family moved to Vernal, Utah, and daughter Carrie Ann was born in 1956. In 1958 the family moved to Price, Utah, and by March 1962 had moved to Monticello, Utah. Erma started working as a nurses aid at San Juan Hospital in 1966 and retired in 1992 after 26 years of service.
Erma and Grant eventually retired to Moab, Utah where they enjoyed many years of retirement.
Erma is survived by her immediate family of 4 children, 8 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, siblings, her husband Grant and Grandson Grant Paul Leavitt, son of Mark and Cindy Leavitt.
