Husband of Mary Catherine Anderson. Father of William Berry King, Bessie Olive Strong, Jodie King, John King, Henry King, Roxie King, Lilly King and Mary King.∼Prvt 56th Georgia Regiment Vol. Inf. Co-G. Army of the Tennessee. Enlisted May 3,1862. Captured Vicksburg, Miss. & paroled July 4,1863. Wounded in finger & apputated @ Missionary Ridge,Tenn.(11/23/63). Furloughed 3/10/1865. Unable to reach command reenlisted with Graham's Scouts & surrendered @ Kingston,Ga. May 12 1865.
