Frederick Post, Frederick, Maryland, August 18, 1933:
Mrs. Mattie M. LaRue, wife of C.M. LaRue, of Harpers Ferry, W. Va., died last Wednesday at Charles Town, W. Va. General Hospital of complications, aged 65 years. Besides her husband, the following children survive: Mrs. Ella T. Reibert, Mrs. Horace Lloyd and Miss Mary E. LaRue, all of Washington, D.C; Misses Grace, Maude, Anna Frances and Helen LaRue, all at home; George M. and Woodrow LaRue, at home; Robert LaRue, Brunswick and William LaRue, of Winchester, Va. Six daughters, Mrs. T. J. Cauffman, Mrs. W.W. Daugherty and Mrs. Luther Edwards, of Harpers Ferry; Mrs. Ward Unger, of Pittsburgh, Pa.; Mrs. Edward Cohen, of Baltimore; Mrs. Flossie Whitacre, of Martinsburg, W. Va., and one brother, Albert Roeder, of Harpers Ferry, also survive. The funeral took place Saturday morning at 10 o'clock from the home, with services conducted by Rev. H. L. Hann, of Harpers Ferry. Interment was in the Lutheran cemetery at Bolivar, W. Va.
