∼UNEMPLOYED FOR YEAR, LOSES LIFE UNDER SLATE FALL

UNIONTOWN, July 5, -- Charles William Dean, 33, unemployed for almost a year, was instantly killed Monday shortly after entering the Keister mine to begin work as a miner. He was caught beneath a fall of slate, suffering a fractured skull and a broken neck.
Surviving are his widow, Mrs. Mary Dean and four children, Charles, Jr., Frank, Vincent, and David Dean, all at home in Keister; his father, Warren Dean, also a resident of Keister, and the following brothers and sisters; Mrs. August Schimansky, of Searights; Mrs. George Turner of Philadelphia, Robert Dean of Uniontown, Aaron Dean with the U.S. Army in China, George Florence and Laurabelle Dean, all of Keister.
The funeral was conducted in the family residence this afternoon in charge of Rev. R. E. Spiker, district elder of the Free Methodist Church. Burial in Cove Run Cemetery.
