Harlan F. Lunsford, Jr., 78, of Smith Station, Al. passed away on Tuesday, February 17, 2015 in the Columbus Hospice. Graveside services will be conducted on Saturday, February 21, 2015 at 1:00 PM in the Brooksville Cemetery with Deacon Young Tillman officiating.
-----Harlan Lunsford was born on June 5, 1936 in the Cuthbert, Georgia Hospital the son of the late Harlan Fountain Lunsford, Sr. and Loris Bostick Lunsford. He grew up in Dawson, Ga. working with and learning the grocery business from his Father who owned a local wholesale grocery.
-----After graduating from Terrell County High School he attended North Georgia College, graduating from there with an AB in history in 1958. He served in the U S Army Intelligence branch and was stationed at several duty stations, including Germany and Vietnam where he was an advisor to the Vietnamese National Police.
-----In 1974 he founded Accutax Services, Inc. and operated an accounting and tax practice since that time. He was the first Enrolled Agent (EA) in the Columbus/Phenix City area and was active in the state and national EA organizations.
