Jacob Leonce Glenn is actually the first known burial on the acre that became Pond Springs Cemetery. Jacob is buried in the Walden section. The story goes that his mother had laid him on a blanket while she hung laundry to dry. She heard the baby cry out, and when she turned to look, she saw a snake leaving the blanket. The snake was unfortunately a rattle snake, and it had bit the baby. He died a little while later. Jacob's stone is actually his second stone, the first being stolen. Mr. LE Warren made little Jacob's second stone.
Jacob's parents were Andrew Jackson (AJ) and Nancy (NELSON) GLENN, daughter of Alfred NELSON and Nancy GILL. Andrew Jackson GLENN was born 24 Feb 1833 in Hardin County, Tennessee, and died 27 May 1867 in Waters Park, Travis County, Texas. Nancy was born 25 Aug 1835 in Orange County, North Carolina, and died 23 Jan 1915 in Austin, Travis County, Texas. Both AJ and Nancy are buried Merrelltown Cemetery, Austin, Travis County Texas.
