Obituary---John Slattery, 75, who lived in Liberal from 1928 until he and Mrs Slattery moved to Garden City last November, died at Garden City at 11 o'clock last night. He had been in failing health for some time and suffered a heart attack on Wednesday. Funeral arrangements have not yet been completed but it was announced this morning that services will be held at Cairo, in Pratt County, and interment made there.
Mr Slattery was a member of the Christian Church. He had been employed with various Liberal firms. He was employed at the air base here during its operation.
Survivors include his wife, seven sons and a daughter; Jesse of Plainview TX; Jack of Garden City KS; Floyd, Austin and Elmer Slattery of Hardin MT; Paul Slattery of Glenwood MN; Wilbur Slattery of Wichita KS and Anabel Vaver of Casper WY.
