“MRS. BESSIE HERMANCE
Mrs. Bessie May Hermance, 56, 1632 Kishwaukee street, died yesterday in the home of friends with whom she had been staying, Mr. and Mrs. Clyde Field, 330 East State street. Death followed a long illness.
Mrs. Hermance was born in Williamson county, Illinois, Aug. 6. 1891. She resided many years in Genoa/ Her husband, Floyd died 12 years ago. Surviving are a son Howard, 1932 Kishwaukee street; two sisters, Mmes. Hugh Boatright and Anna Hodges, both of Marion, Ill.; five brothers, Martin, George and Delbert Jones, all of Marion; Lewis Jones, living in California, and Marion Jones, residing in Nevada. Two sisters predeceased her.
The Rev. F. H. Brunn, pastor of St. Paul’s Lutheran church, will officiate at services Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. from the McAllister-Julian-Poorman funeral home, 304 North 5th street. Burial will be in Willwood Burial park. Friends may call at the funeral home tomorrow evening.” This obituary was posted in the Monday, December 1, 1947 edition of the Register-Republic (Rockford, IL) on pg. 21, and in the Tuesday, December 2, 1947 edition of the Morning Star (Rockford, IL) on pg. 2.
