Early Life: Ken was born on July 19, 1922, in Tyhee, Idaho, to Samuel Atwood and Ethel Dorothy Hill Dunn. He served in the United States Marine Corps during World War II, and was at Pearl Harbor and fought in the battles of Guadalcanal (where he was wounded and later awarded a Purple Heart), Midway, and Tarawa.
Life's Work | Service | Interests: Following his discharge from the military, he served as deputy sheriff in Blackfoot, Idaho, where he met Itha LoRene Kesler when she came into the police station asking for a ride home. Ken and LoRene were married November 17, 1951, and were later sealed for time and all eternity on June 7, 1962, in the Logan Utah Temple. Ken had many talents and interests along with an insatiable wanderlust which allowed him to work in a variety of trades. He found the most joy in traveling with his wife through 48 states as a trucker for North American Transport Services. After their trucking career, Ken and LoRene retired to a small farm in Pocatello, Idaho, where Ken was able to share his love of fishing and other hobbies with his grandchildren. They later settled in Provo, Utah, to be close to family. Kenneth Atwood "Ken" Dunn returned home to his beloved wife and his Heavenly Father on February 16, 2015. He was 92.
Survived By: Five children, 22 grandchildren, many great grandchildren; two brothers and a sister.
Preceded In Death By: His wife of 56 years, LoRene; his brothers: Lowell and Melvin; and a granddaughter, Jill.
