Leo W Roehl, 87, of 470 Ruggles St., Fond du Lac, died unexpectedly on Thursday, Oct. 1, 2009, at St. Agnes Hospital. He was born on Aug. 13, 1922, in Princeton, the son of William and Jeanette Deich Rahl. On May 27, 1950, he married Irene M. Mietzelfeldt at Immanuel-Trinity Lutheran Church. He worked at the Combination Door Co. and at Rueping Leather for 30 years. He retired in 1985. Leo was a veteran of World War II. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1942 to 1948. He was a longtime member of Immanuel- Trinity Lutheran Church. He enjoyed the Green Bay Packers, the Milwaukee Brewers, swimming, and being with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Leo was a charter member of the Aquatic Center. He is survived by his wife, Irene, of Fond du Lac; his three daughters, Sue (Bernard) Hagen, Janice (Robert) Fauska, and JoAnn Roehl, all of Fond du Lac; five grandsons, Greg and Daniel Hagen and Brian, Keith, (Heather) and Mark Fauska; nine great-grandchildren; a brother, Reuben Rahl, Fond du Lac; nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Alice Knecht and Nancy Warner; and a sister-in-law, Shirley Rahl. Visitation: Family and friends may call on Monday, Oct. 5, from 9 to 11 a.m. at the Uecker-Witt Funeral Home, 524 N. Park Ave. Services: Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. The Rev. David Pavesic will officiate. Burial will follow at Estabrooks Cemetery. Uecker-Witt Funeral Home of Fond du Lac is in charge of arrangements.
