She was born on April 10, 1914 in Redstar, Arkansas, the daughter of Charles and Fannie (Swanson) Barker.
Opal lived with her family in Pettigrew, Arkansas and attended school there.
On May 23, 1930, she married Joe Calvin Osbon. He preceded her in death. After their marriage, they moved to Oklahoma and then to Satanta.
She spent her time raising their children and keeping house.
Opal loved gardening and spent many hours working in the yard caring for her flower gardens.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Satanta.
Opal is survived by four children, Carl Osbon and wife Wynola of Sublette, Deb Slattery and husband Keith of Phillipsburg, Bob Osbon and wife Rene of Las Vegas, Nevada, and Imogene Deckard of Marshfield, Missouri; one sister, Mary Tabott of East Coffeeville, Oklahoma; and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.
In addition to her husband Joe, she is preceded in death by her parents; one son, Joe B. Osbon; one daughter, Dorothy Alexander; and nine brothers and sisters.
