NORTHFIELD — Robert Chester Bellmay, of 70 Old Northfield Road, Northfield, born Dec. 30, 1924, passed away on Feb. 14, 2015, Valentine's Day, just passed his 90th birthday to be with his beloved wife, Marjorie (Richards) Bellmay.

Robert was born and raised in his beloved town of Thomaston, which he loved. He had a profound love for his country and was drafted into the U.S. Army, where he proudly served during World War II.

He worked at the Far View Farm in Northfield for the late Lorton Woods and moved to 70 Old Northfield Road, where he resided for more than 50 years.

In 1959 he started the business, Bellmay and Felladore Plumbing and Heating, which is now Bellmay Plumbing and Heating, and run by his favorite son, Todd.

Robert was also a member of the Northfield Fire Department for more than 20 years. Overall he loved his family and his beloved late wife, Marjorie.

Robert is survived by his loving, artistic daughter, Joyce S. Bellmay and his son, Todd R. Bellmay and his wife, Maureen; he loved his grandchildren, Brooke and Josh Barbero, Emily, Tasha and Landon Bellmay; and his great-grandchildren, Alyssa and Nicole Vasil, and another on the way.

He loved the game of baseball, Vermont, camping, traveling, his close friends of Northfield and all his customers who were a part of his family.

The family would like to thank all of his caregivers and friends of Eldridge and Emeritus and the staff at Charlotte Hungerford Hospital who made his last years memorable.

Arrangements: A memorial service will be held on Thursday, Feb. 19, 2015 at 10 a.m. at the Morris Congregational Church. Burial in Northfield Cemetery will be held in the spring.
