ABSALOM QUINNEY DIES
The Times learns that Absalom Quinney, a direct descendant of one of the
chiefs of the Stockbridge Indians, died in the town of Brothertown Wednesday.
Mr. Quinney when a young man was a student at the Lawrence University at
Appleton. Some years ago he suffered a stroke of paralysis and since then has
been nearly helpless although at times he traveled about selling Indian herbs.
The past few months he suffered considerable and it is reported that a few
weeks ago he attempted to take his life, shooting himself twice, one bullet
taking effect in his leg. Blood poisoning set in which was the cause of his
death. The funeral will be held today, Saturday.

A.N. Quinney died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. A. Potter, at noon
Thursday. He had been ill all winter and failing gradually, but death came
very suddenly.
