Bettie Thompson, 92, of Knightstown, passed away Tuesday, December 26, 2017 at the Rawlins House in Pendleton, where she resided. She was born January 30, 1925 in Black Rock, AR, a daughter of the late Rector Sloan and Jennie Windows (Holobaugh) Ward.

A homemaker, Bettie had lived in Knightstown for over 60 years. She was a member of Righteous Oaks Baptist Church in Warrington. She enjoyed sewing and other kinds of needlework, however, her family and her church family were more important to her than anything.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her daughters, Jennie (Kermitt) Troxell of Markleville, Sandra (Roger) Crail of Pendleton, son, James (Patsy) Smith of Ava, MO; step-daughters, June (Lawrence) Cochran of Milton, IN, Mae Shively of Crawfordsville, IN; step-sons, Bruce (Jill) Thompson of Clermont, FL, and Michael (Lanna) Thompson of Scottsboro, AL, and John (Patricia) Thompson of Shannon, GA; Several grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, James T. Smith; second husband, Hollis E. Thompson; five sisters and a brother.

Services will be at 12:00 p.m. noon on Friday, December 29, 2017 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service, Knightstown Chapel, officiated by Steve Rayburn and Bruce Thompson. Burial will follow in Glen Cove Cemetery in Knightstown. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m., Thursday, December 28, 2017 at the funeral home and an hour before the service on Friday.
