Alvin "Diz" Allen, age 78 of Piedmont, passed away May 10, 2009 at Piedmont, Missouri. He was born April 18, 1931 at Little Lake near Patterson, Missouri, the son of Milum and Virgie (Wakefield) Allen. He was married October 21, 1950 to Helen Handy and she passed away May 5, 1981. He was married November 1, 1987 to Sue Thomas and had lived in the Piedmont area most of his life. He was a member of Friendship Baptist Church. He retired from Associated Gas Company and loved to play golf and watch college sports.

Survivors include his wife, Sue Allen of Piedmont, 2 sons, Mike Allen and his wife Kristi of Piedmont, Rick Allen and his wife Kim of Wichita Falls, Texas; 2 stepchildren, Randy Robinson of Piedmont, Gayla Brinkley and her husband Donald of Festus, MO; 1 sister, Ruby Sutton of St. Charles, MO; 12 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held after 5 PM Wednesday at the Morrison-Worley Funeral Chapel in Piedmont. Funeral services will be held at 1 PM Thursday, May 14, 2009 at the funeral home chapel with Rev. Don Hutto and Rev. Ken Gray officiating. Interment will be in the Piedmont Masonic Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to the Alzheimers Association or the American Cancer Society.
