Buckshot was born July 20, 1922 in Navasota, the son of Jefferson Davis and Lytle Fuqua. A lifelong resident of Navasota, he graduated from Navasota High School in 1940 and served his country during WWII in the US Navy. A former Navasota Police Officer, Buckshot married Wilma Marie Harrington. That marriage was not only based on the love they had for each other, but they also formed a hard working business relationship, which included the Queen B, in both Navasota and Iola, The Rose Shop and "Buck's Carrots". A 32nd Degree Mason, Buckshot was a member of Navasota Lodge 299 AF & AM, having just received his 65 year pin. He was a member of Navasota VFW Post 4006 and numerous other organizations over the years. Buckshot loved to hunt, fish, dancing and a good time with all his friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 54 years, Wilma and a sister, Doris Baca.
Survivors include his children, Glenn Davis Fuqua and wife, Inez and Becky Towns and husband, David; grandchildren, Wade Davis Fuqua and Kasha Towns; great-grandson, Waylenn Davis Fuqua; close friend and companion, Gayle Reagan, all of Navasota; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and a great number of friends.
