This gracious lady was born in Huntsville, but lived most of her adult years in Birmingham, where she lovingly raised her family in her faith, which sustains them still. She had the kind of beauty that only God can give and her smile has touched many. She was somehow able to nurture her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren in ways that were specific to them. Everyone was her favorite. She diligently labored to make a loving and comfortable home for her family. She was a charter member of Belle Meade Garden Club, member of Elinor Horde Literary Club, Member of Hope Sunday School Class and member of Mountain Brook Baptist Church for over 50 Years. The family would like to thank the staff and caregivers of Kirkwood by the River for their care and support. Thanks also to long-time friend and caregiver Therita Lawler for her love for "Sugar Mama". Visitation will be at Rideout's Valley Chapel in Homewood on Sun. Feb. 15, 2015, from 10:00 to 11:00 AM with service beginning at 11:00. Internment in Maple Hill Cemetery in Huntsville, Alabama will be held for the family.
