From the Feb. 13, 1959 Van Wert, Ohio, Times Bulletin: "Rites were held Thursday afternoon at the Cowan and Son Funeral Home for James McCollum, 80, West Main Street, who died in the Van Wert County Hospital where he was admitted following a fall on a flight of steps. Burial was in the Woodland Cemetery.
Services for Mr. McCollum had been set for Tuesday, but were postponed because of flood conditions."
