John H. "Uncle John" Chance - RINCON - John H. "Uncle John" Chance, 85, died Sunday, June 6, 2010 at his residence. The Screven County native was a member of Rincon Baptist Temple. He retired from Boilermakers Union Local 26 after 37 years.
He was predeceaseed by his parents Mr. Henry and Mrs. Rhee Chance; two sisters Anne Laura Burnsed and Irene Harris; two brothers, Charles Chance, and M. C. Chance.
Survivors include his wife of 62 1/2 years, Jeannette Hagan Chance of Rincon; daughter, Jo Chance Hazen of Rincon; five brothers, Roy Chance and Levert Chance both of Guyton; Walter Chance of Alexandria, LA; Robert Chance of Newington; and Russell Chance of Rincon. Two sisters, Dorothy Kindle of Eden and Dena Billings of Basket, KY.
Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Funeral Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday in the Chapel of the funeral home. Interment will follow at Screven Memorial Park in Sylvania, GA.
