Betty was a member of St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church. Before starting her family, she worked at Owens Illinois Glass Factory and in later years was employed part time for the Marion County Board of Education as a Room monitor. She enjoyed taking care of her grandchildren, sewing and gardening.
She is survived by two children, Dr. John Astrino and wife Barbara of Stow, OH, Tina Straight and fiancé Richard Hudkins of Lost Creek, WV; one brother, John Moroose and wife Margaret of Florida; a sister-in-law, Brenda Moroose, also of Florida; grandchildren, Kathrine Astrino, Anthony Astrino and wife Ronalee, Margaret Astrino, Ronald James Straight Jr. and fiancé Jennifer Reed, Suzanne Straight and boyfriend Jacob Janicki, Anna Straight and fiancé Germaine Johnson; great grandchildren, Geniya Johnson and Benny Straight. Betty is also survived by several nieces and nephews and her loving family of caregivers at the Tygart Center.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Benny Astrino; five brothers, Tucker, Phillip, James, Louis, and Robert Moroose; two sisters, Mary Dillinger and Rose Moroose.
The family will receive friends at Domico Funeral Home, 414 Gaston Ave. in Fairmont from 1 to 8 p.m. Sunday. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Monday February 16, at St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church with Father Robert Perriello as Celebrant. Interment will follow at Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Fairmont.
