Aaron Wesley "Wes" Hamlett, 76, of Grants Pass died Saturday, Feb. 22, 2014, at Royale Gardens Health & Rehabilitation Center.No services are planned at this time. Condolences may be sent to the family at stephensfc.com.Hamlett was born Feb. 28, 1937, in Englewood, Colo. He lived most of his life in Grants Pass and graduated from Grants Pass High School in 1956. He served in the Air Force as a weapons mechanic from 1957 to 1961, including being stationed in Europe. He worked for the cities of Portland and Medford, and was a disc jockey for KAGI in the 1960s.He was a former member of Church of the Nazarene and Wayne Owen Fighting Arts Tai Chi Club. He enjoyed martial arts and was an instructor for Tai Chi for more than 25 years. He also enjoyed years of daily gatherings with his coffee comrades, music, reading and especially Shakespeare.Survivors include a cousin, Shirley Dunning of Bandon.His mother, Etha, died in 1984.
