Stephen F. Austin, 62, of Spring, Texas, passed away February 10, 2015, in Humble, Texas. He was born August 11, 1952, in Nacogdoches, Texas, to Floyd Jesse Austin and Nannie Mae Winder Austin.

Burial will follow with a graveside service at 10:30 a.m. at Shady Grove Cemetery.

Steve grew up in Nacogdoches and graduated from Nacogdoches High School in 1970 and Stephen F. Austin State University in 1974. He began work for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company in Nacogdoches in August 1974 and completed his forty year anniversary August 2014.

He was preceded in death by his parents, as well as his brother, Glen Austin, and infant twin siblings, Charles and Charlene.

Survivors include sisters: Evelyn Austin Hendrix and husband, Van, and Betty Austin Wicker; brothers: Jesse Austin and wife, Linda, and William (Mack) Austin; nieces and nephews: Brian Hendrix and wife, Hilda, Patricia K. McCutchan, Scott Austin and wife, Stephanie, Todd Austin, Rebecca Austin Castro and husband, Miguel, Lori Austin, William M. Austin Jr., Jana Wicker Morris and husband, Terry; and great nieces and nephews: Ethan Hendrix, Avery Brown, Addison Brown, Caitlyn McCutchan, Melissa Anne McCutchan , Nicholas Austin, Madison Austin, Victoria Castro, Benjamin Castro, and Samantha Morris.

Steve will be remembered for his warm smile, sharp wit, love of his cats, and his giving nature. He will be missed by his family, friends, and especially his co-workers at AT&T.

Pallbearers are Brian Hendrix, Scott Austin, Todd Austin, Nicholas Austin, William M. Austin Jr., and Terry Morris.
