A native of Sneedville, TN, Mrs. Smith had resided in Buncombe County since 1964. She was a former Quality Control Inspector with Taylor Instrument Company, and was a member of Oakley Baptist Church. She loved dancing and quilting.
Mrs. Smith was born to the late Doss and Lura Petrey Bell. She was also preceded in death by her husbands: Mike Herila (1969) and Robert Smith (2005); son, Teddy Herila (2009); sons-in-law: David Bailey (2007) and Gus McCurry
