Daughter of Charles W. Eaton and Elizabeth (Tyre or Terry) Eaton. She always said that she was born at Terre Haute, Indiana. Census records show that the family lived in Sullivan County, Indiana, near Terre Haute. Old newspaper records from Sullivan County show the Eaton family presence there, from shortly after 1813. Alice also said that the Eaton family owned a store in Indiana, extended too much credit, went out of business, and left for Texas in the 1870s. In Texas, Alice's parents settled near Weatherford, in Parker County. Alice's sister, Sarah Eaton, and a brother, Benjamin, also came with the family. (Earlier children may have also come with them.) On 17 November 1884, Alice married James Monroe Brimhall, whose parents came from Missouri to settle near Harmony, south of Weatherford. Alice is buried next to James at Cottonwood Cemetery, near Bryson, in Jack County, Texas, and her sister Sarah is buried at Harmony, next to her husband, W. A. Davis. We do not know where Charles W Eaton and Elizabeth Tyre/Terry Eaton are buried, nor do we know what became of her brother Benjamin and his family. (The memorial for her sister, Sarah, is at Find a Grave #47619927)
