MONTICELLO---Funeral ser ­vices for John H. Kray, 67, willbe held Friday at 1:30 p.m. at St.Matthew Lutheran church. TheRev. Anton Kirkegaard will officiate.Interment will be in Oak woodcemetery.Mr. Kray died Tuesday morning,Dec. 19, at Mercy hospital inCedar Rapids following an illnessofseveral weeks. He was bomApril 26, 1900, the son of Tjarkand Johanna Remmers Kray.He attended Jones county ruralschools. On April 25, 1923, hemarried Meta M. Tapken at SS.Peter and Paul Lutheran church.Castle Grove. They farmed in theMonticello area until moving toMonticello in 1951.He was preceded in death by hisparents, a siste r and two sons.Survivors include: his wife;three daughters, Mrs. Lorenz(Loretta) Zimmerman of Monticello,Mrs. Phillip (Doretta) Asse lof Kearney, Mo. and Mrs, Robert(Bemiece) Like of Monticello; ason Lawrence of Monticello; foursisters, Mrs. Margaret Lorenzenof Cedar Rapids, Mrs. Kate Ulfertsand Mrs. Minnie Brockhohnof Monticello, and Mrs. Marion(Anna) Starry of AnArbor, Mich.;one half-brother, Martin Smith ofBarum, Mich.; and 13 grandchildren.Pallbearer s will be LouisBrockhohn, Fred Lorenzen, MelferdStarry, Marvin Tapken, HarveyTapken and William EugeneDirks.
