Rites for Mrs. J.C. Schalekamp Are 1:30 Friday
Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon at 1:30 p.m. from the First Reformed church of Sioux Center for Mrs. J.C. Schalekamp, 81, who passed away Tuesday afternoon at the Sioux Center hospital.
Brief services will be held at Vander Ploeg's Funeral Home preceding the services at the church. Rev. H. Brower will officiate and burial will be made in the Sioux Center Community Cemetery under the direction of Vander Ploeg's Funeral service.
Mrs. Schalekamp, nee Maggie Ten Kley, was born in The Netherlands and came to America at the age of 7 years.
On March 16, 1898 she was united in marriage to Albert Boeyink and to this union three children were born. They are Denna of Sioux Center, Dick and John.
Mr. Boeyink preceded her in death on January 15, 1931, and on July 19, 1939, she was married to J.C. Schalekamp who died on January 29, 1951.
Her two sons also preceded her in death.
Survivors include the following brothers and sisters: Henry, Dena (Mrs. George Bolster), Dick and Albert all of Sheldon; Bertha (Mrs. William Dykstra) of Hull and Gerrit of Lynden, Wash.
