Brenda Hayes, Slayden, died Feb. 9, 2015 at Horizon Hospital in Dickson after a long courageous battle with cancer. She was born in Hohenwald on Sep. 7, 1956, the daughter of Albert Lee Baker and Christine Edgin.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her infant daughter, Sonja Renee Hayes in 1973; Siblings Peggy Leola Elkins, Patsy Lucille Vanatta, James Albert Baker, Cynthia Gail DeLoach (PYLANT), and Donna Kay Hardin.
Brenda is survived by her husband of 41 years, Tony Leon Hayes, Sr.; sons, Michael Shane Baker and his wife Tina, Tony Leon Hayes Jr. (Sonny) and his wife Stephanie, and daughter Christy Hayes; Sisters Cathleen Clouse and Linda Faye Cartwright.
Brenda was Grand Mother to Michael Baker, Jr., Tony Ray Baker, Sabrina Kay Baker, Christopher Lee Baker, Destiny Marie Baker, Ashley Jeanette Hayes, Dustin Dale Hayes, Tristen Dalton Hayes, Jasmine Alana Hayes, Sonja Christine Hayes and Justin Ray Hayes, and Marie Benson; Great Grand Mother to Chase Michael Baker, Hunter Baker, Peyton Baker, October Rose Hayes, Atreya Ray Hayes, and Temperance Mae Hayes.
