Rollie was born August 3, 1922, in Tobias, Nebraska to John and Bethie (Harris) Kempf. He was raised in Burlington Junction, MO, where he met and married his lifelong sweetheart Lois Genevee Moore November 10, 1942. Eight days later he was drafted and shipped out to Camp Claiborne, LA. During World War II he was one of the Blue Devils in the 88th Ranger Division of the Army.
He worked for and on farms most of his life. Then in 1962 he bought his own farm just outside of Maryville, where he lived and worked the rest of his life.
Rollie was preceded in death by his parents, wife Lois, (April 10, 2010), son Robert Wayne "Bobby" Kempf, granddaughter Stephanie Lois Kempf. four brothers: Harland, Ralph, Edward and Joseph Kempf, three sisters: Jennie Fern Kempf, Pauline Kempf and Pearl Isgrigg.
Survived and greatly missed by sons: John Rollie (Betty) Kempf, Maryville and Clarence Richard (Thelma) Kempf, Oklahoma City, OK; daughters: Genevee Mae (Larry) Houston, Ozark, MO and Lois Juanita (Rueford) Kennedy, Arkoe, MO; one brother Ernest Kempf; two sisters: Ruth Owens and Geraldine Pierson; twelve grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.
Visitation is 6:00-7:00 PM, Tuesday, February 10, 2015, Price Funeral Home, Maryville.
Funeral Services will be 2:00 PM, Wednesday, February 11th, with burial following in Nodaway Memorial Gardens, Maryville.
Graveside military honors will be provided by the Missouri Military Honors and James Edward Gray American Legion Post #100.
