She traveled by train with her family to Gainesville and then came to Muenster with a wagon and horses in December of 1905. She helped at the convent in Fall City, Nebraska for years. She returned home ill and died at the age of 40. She is buried next to her parents by the monument which was donated by her parents in 1917. Dorothy Vogel is her namesake.
