Ruth Marie Robb, the daughter of Elizabeth (Blasdel) and Virgil Geist, was born September 1, 1939 at Hutchinson, Kansas. She departed this life on Saturday, February 7, 2015 at Wesley Towers in Hutchinson, Kansas at the age of 75 years, 5 months and 6 days.

Ruth grew up in the Plevna, Kansas community where she received her formal education and graduated with the class of 1957. She pursued her Bachelor's Degree at Sterling College, majoring in Elementary Education and Physical Education. She later earned her Master's Degree from Kearney State College in Special Learning and Disabilities. Ruth taught school for two years at Minneapolis, Kansas, and on June 2, 1962 she was united in marriage with Gene Robb. They moved to Deshler, Nebraska where they both taught school for two years. Their careers then took them to York, Nebraska where Ruth continued teaching until her retirement in 2001. That same year they moved to Guide Rock to make their home.

Ruth's personality was pervaded by her passion for learning and her dedication, enthusiasm and commitment to her students. Ruth had a number of interests and activities she pursued through the years. She enjoyed working with her flowers, reading, baking and playing a game of cards. She was very accomplished with her calligraphy work and created countless projects for many people. They always enjoyed camping and in their retirement years Ruth and Gene became Wagon Masters for a tour group, hosting campers on extended trips to Mexico, Canada, Alaska and the western United States. Her love for her family was immeasurable and her children and grandchildren were her greatest love and enthusiasm in life.

She was a longtime member of the Community Church and then the Guide Rock United Methodist Church. She was a member of the Nebraska Teachers' Association and the York Education Association.

Preceding her in death were her parents; an infant son, Kory; brothers-in-law, Rich Robb and Vern Comley; and her in-law, Virginia and Loy Robb.

Left to cherish her memory are her loving husband, Gene Robb of Guide Rock, Nebraska; daughter Karla Robb of Eureka, California and children Brendyn and Faith; son Darin Robb of Juniata, Nebraska; sisters, Mary Lou Comley of Hutchinson, Kansas and Margaret Miller and husband Joe of El Cajon, California; and brothers, Don Geist and wife Holly of Arlington, Texas; Tom Geist and wife Jackie of Plevna, Kansas, and Rich Geist and wife Jean of Plevna, Kansas; a sister-in-law, Twila Irvin of Hastings, Nebraska; nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, 1:30 p.m., February 11, 2015 at the United Methodist Church in Guide Rock with the Rev. Warren Schoming officiating. Interment will be at the Guide Rock Cemetery.

Visitation will be held Monday and Tuesday,. 8:00 a.m.-8:00 p.m. at the funeral home, and Wednesday, 11:00 a.m. to service time at the church.

Memorials are suggested to the Guide Rock United Methodist Church or Center Point.
