Gene E. Haight, 71, of rural Council Bluffs died Nov. 1 at Jennie Edmundson Memorial Hospital after a short illness.
He graduated from high school in 1942 in Beebeetown, and had farmed in the Weston area.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Cown Haight, in 1989.
Survivors include a sister-in-law, Eloise Haight, of Minden and a brother-in-law, Kenneith Schuning, of Council Bluffs; nieces and nephews.
Funeral will be Saturday at 10:30 a.m. at Knutson Funeral Home in Avoca, with the Rev. Isaias Paniamogan officiating. Burial will be in the Minden Cemetery.
Visitation with the family will be Friday from 7 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
