Louise was the daughter of Heinrich "Henry" Dieke and Wilhelmine Wesemann. She was born in the family home in Proviso Township in what was later to become the village of LaGrange Park. She married Heinrich Diedich AUGUST Degener 31 March 1872 in Immanuel Lutheran Church, Proviso Township, Cook County, Illinois. They had a family of 10 children - 5 boys and 5 girls.
