Jerre Ann Barfield Christian, 77, of Waco, passed away on February 5, 2014, at Providence Hospital. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m., Sunday, February 8, at Connally Compton Funeral Directors. Graveside Services will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, February 9, in Waco Memorial Park with Alec Ylitalo officiating.
Jerre was born in Waco, Texas, to the late Willis Fred and Dora Belle Ryals Barfield. She attended Waco High School, while there she was a member of the golf team. Jerre graduated in 1955 and attended Baylor University. She retired the from Veterans Administration Regional Office in 1996. Jerre was a longtime member of the Richfield Christian Church.
She married Jimmy Christian on October 17, 1958. She had a great love for her family and enjoyed spending time with them. "The Girls", longtime friends from her high school days, were very dear to her heart. She enjoyed sports and outdoor activities.
Jerre is preceded in death by her husband, Jimmy Dee Christian; brother, Don Barfield; and a grandson, David Mark Moore.
Survivors include her daughters, Dee Ann Boatright and husband, Mark, Donna Rene Shine, and Denise Harper and husband, Jody; grandchildren, Ricky Boatright and Amber Christian; great-grandson, Jaiden Boatright; sister-in-law, Linda Christian Ferguson; and numerous nieces and nephews. T17
