Our beloved Daisy, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend, left us Monday, Jan. 26, 2015 after a lengthy illness. Daisy was born in Lerdo, CA. to Simona Colunga and Jose Parra and named Eusebia Parra. The family worked the farms of the San Joaquin Valley, settled for a period of time in Hanford, CA. and worked for the Hampshire family that became Daisy's second family for a period of ten years. They had a hard time pronouncing Eusebia's name and through a series of nicknames came up with Daisy. Daisy left the Hampshire Ranch at age 18 when mama Simona showed up and no reason was given for the departure. They moved to Famosa, CA. which is North of Bakersfield, CA. As luck would have it Daisy became an employee for the Southern Pacific Railroad. This was November 1944 and being a 20 year old female with the title of Clerk-Telegrapher was unheard of. With these working skills Daisy was able to train her husband Paul Jones when he got out of the navy at the end of World War II.

The family moved several times where at various times Daisy worked for the schools that her children attended and as a den mother for a Cub Scout troop. Eventually the family settled in Sunnyvale. Here she worked for several years at Signetics.

She was an active communicant at Saint Cyprian Catholic Church, a member of the Sunnyvale Garden Club and a volunteer at Sunnyside Gardens.

Predeceased by husband Paul, son Thomas and grandson Lucas, Daisy is survived by sons Walter [Susan] Jones, John [Sharon] Jones, daughters Vivian Sanchez, Judy [Philip] Padilla, 9 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.
