Betty J. Prince, age 83 of Carlyle, entered into rest on Thursday, September 20, 2012, at her residence in Carlyle. Mrs. Prince was born on December 7, 1928, in Carlyle, Illinois a daughter of Oscar B. and Bessie V. (Williamson) Berry. She married Bill Rockett in 1950 and he preceded her in death. She married Sidney Ryan in 1953 and he also preceded her in death. She then married Roy Prince in 1965, and he preceded her in death as well. Survivors include 2 daughters; 2 sons; 4 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Mrs. Prince was the last surviving of 14 children in her family; she was preceded in death by a son Harold in 1951, her parents, her husbands and her siblings – Oscar, Mike, Francis, Bob, George, Virginia, Juanita, Eva, Flora, Elizabeth, Mary and 2 still-born children. Mrs. Prince lived in Evansville, Indiana and moved back to Carlyle in 1967. She worked at Hollywood-Leaf Candy Factory for 26 years until her retirement in 1994. She was a member of the Protestant faith. A committal service will be held at a later date.
