Funeral services for Bonnie Friday Lester, 80, of Fairview Alpha, LA were at 1 P.M. Wednesday, February 4, 2015 at Rockett-Nettles Funeral Home Chapel with Sister Norene Delp officiating and Bro. Justin Lester assisting. Interment followed in Weaver Cemetery.

Mrs. Lester was born November 1, 1934 in Chestnut, LA and passed away February 1, 2015.

Bonnie came to know the Lord under her mother’s ministry that started in Fairview Alpha and is known today as Calvary Assembly of God, a lighthouse to the community. She began her working career as postmistress in Chestnut and retired as secretary to Dr. Larry Hand in Coushatta, LA. She enjoyed listening to gospel music, watching game shows, and spending time with her grandkids. She was a loving mother and grandmother and will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved her.

She is preceded in death by her son, Larry Lester; great-grandson, Larry Lester, III; parents, Lynn and Bennie Friday; two brothers, Willard Friday and wife, Flora and Julius Friday and wife, Weedie; infant sister, Era Lavelle Friday; and brother-in-law, BoBo Rains.

Mrs. Lester is survived by her sister, Florence Rains of Knoxville, TN; daughter, Janice Faust of Gloster, LA; beloved daughter-in-law, Charlotte Williams and husband, Jimmy of Fairview Alpha, LA; five grandchildren, Julius “JuJu” Lester and wife, Venessa; Larry Lester, Jr., Tim Lester and wife, Christi, Eddie Scallion, and Benny “Beeper” Faust and wife, Jennifer; nine great-grandchildren, Justin Lester, Aston Lester, Mallie Lester, Raleigh Lester, Brylee Lester, Ethan Lester, Eddie Scallion, Jr., Felicity Faust, and John Faust; numerous nieces and nephews; and special friends Brenda Hamilton, Amelia Ann Keith, Randall Bounds, Edward Scallion, Linda Weaver, Pat Nichols and Pastors David and Frances Allen.

Pallbearers were “JuJu” Lester, Wayne Lester, Tim Lester, “Beeper” Faust, Jason Rains, and Aston Lester.
