Matthew Jay Spaeny entered his eternal home on Monday, January 26, 2015, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Matt was born in Hutchinson, Kansas on June 22, 1964, as the youngest son of the late Don and Alberta Spaeny.
He graduated from Hutchinson High School after which he attended Hutchinson Junior College, then completed his college education at Wichita State University in 1986.
Matt married his beloved wife, Mykl, in 2001 and was the proud father of Jake, age 12, and Luke, age 10.
A hard worker, full of integrity, Matt worked as a sales consultant in the clothing industry and for twelve years as the business development manager at Staples.
Matt had many and varied interests including archery, music, and scouting.
He was a talented craftsman, enjoying woodworking. His greatest love was time spent with his family, who describes him as a man of incredible patience, wisdom, and optimism.
A devoted follower of Jesus Christ and a member of Covenant Community Church, Matt especially enjoyed the company of other faithful men in a weekly early morning Bible study.
Matt's life was truly well-lived and worthy of imitation. He fought the good fight, finished the race, and entered the presence of the Lord to the words, "Well done, good and faithful servant."
