Logan Garrett, 66, Ends Life
Logan Garrett, age 66, widely known as a blacksmith in Franklin for more than 40 years, ended his life at his home at 149 East Cincinnati street early this morning when he drank carbolic acid. Mr. Garrett had suffered a nervous breakdown a few years ago and had been despondent over poor health for the past few weeks.
Funeral services will be held at the Methodist church here…burial will take place in Greenlawn cemetery…
Mr. Garrett, the son of William A. and Mary Fry Garrett, was born in Estil county, Kentucky, on November 9, 1872. He was reared in that county and came here about 50 years ago.
On May 19, 1892, he was married to Miss Fannie Winkler, of the Union community. the widow survives with three sons, Claude Garrett of North Vernon, W. C. Garrett and Robert Garrett, both of Franklin. Two sisters, Mrs. Marshall Vandivier and Mrs. Ira Henderson, are deceased. Four grandchildren survive….
Mr. Garrett for many years had been a member of the Methodist church and the Modern Woodmen of America.
