Minnie America Anderson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lett Anderson was born in Howser county, Missouri, Oct 6, 1874, and departed this life Feb. 18, 1955, at her home in Burwell, Nebraska, at the age of 80 years, 4 months, and 12 days. Mrs. Conner had been bedfast for three months and 12 days, and was cared for during that time by her husband, children and neighbors.
Her parents, three brothers and one sister came to Nebraska in a covered wagin, at the time she was 12 years old.
On March 9, 1890 she was united in marriage to George E. Conner at Elryia, Nebraska, at the home of her parents.
To this union thirteen children were born, two dying in infancy, daughter Minnie and son Ellis Lee. Those preceding her in death later in life were her oldest son Lett J., daughter Mary Maybelle, and a son George A.. Those to mourn her passing are her faithful and loving husband, George E. Conner of Burwell, five daughters and three sons as follows, Mrs. Laura Freeman of Burwell, Mrs. Nora White of Ericson, Mrs. Lorrine Brewer of Burwell, Mrs. Mona Hughes of Burwell, Mrs. Freda Flock of Ericson, sons Clarence of Ord, Ray of Greenfield, California, Orval of Burwell; 57 grandchildren, 56 great grandchildren. Five grandchildren, and three great grandchildren preceded her in death. She has two brothers and two sisters as follows, John Anderson of Ord, Celby Anderson of Laton, California, Mrs. Viola Obert of Hanford, California, and Iva Patterson of Salinas, California. Two brothers and one sister preceded her in death, Aubrey, Robert, and Maude Anderson, also her mother and father preceded her in death. She has a host of nieces and nephews, cousins and friends to miss her.
She and her husband lived on a homestead most of their happy married life, until ten years ago when they moved to Burwell, Nebraska, where she has since made her home.
She united in the Church of Christ at an early age.
Funeral services were conducted at the Congregational church in Burwell, Rev. E.K. Bauman officiating, Tuesday Feb 21, 1955 at 2:00 p.m.. Internment was in the Burwell cemetery.
