Trilma married Edward M. Steward on August 25, 1929 in Bevier, Missouri. But for some reason, the marriage was kept a secret. When it was revealed, this notice appeared in the paper:

"Edward Steward and Trilma Schwenk Married"
Announcement is being made of the marriage of Miss Trilma Schwenk and Edward Steward, both of Macon, which was solemnized Sunday at 2:30 on August 25, 1929 in Bevier, Missouri at the home of Mrs. L. Mason. The only witnesses were Mrs. L.O. Mason and Kenneth King.

The bride is the oldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A.M. Schwenk. She resides north of Macon and has been employed at the Macon Garment Factory.

They will be at the home of the groom's parents for the present."

The photo to the right shows Trilma with her husband Edward in 1935.
