Marianna Moody joined her precious daughter, O'Hara Moody Melton in Heaven on January 31, 2015 at the age of 98.

Marianna was born October 6, 1916 in Tampa to Benedetto and Filippa (Candileri) Arcuri.

She, her sister Marie, and brothers, Bennie and Joe were raised in Arcadia, Florida.

Graduating from The Florida State College for Women, she returned to Arcadia to begin a 40 year teaching career.

In 1937 Marianna married William Joseph Moody, Jr. Their daughter, Marie O'Hara was born in 1942 and son, Charles Michael in 1944.

Marianna came to Fort Pierce in 1948 and taught 1st grade for 12 years; later she taught at Dan McCarty High for 12 years and retired after 12 more years at Indian River Community College.

Marianna is survived by her son, Mike Moody (Nancy) of Vero Beach; sister, Marie Arcuri Johnston of Tampa; 8 grandchildren, David Michael Melton (Sandy) of Jacksonville; Hannah Marie Melton of Fort Pierce; Marianna Louise Melton Lewis (Paul) of Fort Pierce; Judith O'Hara Melton Tourjee (Thomas) of Fort Pierce; Michael Carlisle Moody (Maria) of Tampa; Charles Patrick Moody (Elisabeth) of Pointe Vedra; Dr. O'Hara Lorraine Moody McKenna (Dr. David) of Tampa; and Patricia Michele Moody of Vero Beach; 11 grandchildren, Alexandra Moody, Dalton Melton, Trent Melton, Summer Lewis, O'Hara Smith, McKenzie Smith, Emily Tourjee, Victoria Moody, Camille Moody, David McKenna and Avianna McKenna.

A visitation will be held from 5- 6 PM with a memorial service beginning at 6 PM on Friday, February 6, 2015 at Yates Funeral Home and Crematory in Fort Pierce.

Interment will be at White City Cemetery.

In her memory, contributions may be given to the ARC of Indian River County Advocacy Committee, 1375 16th Avenue, Vero Beach, FL 32960.
