Margarete married Kurt Oskar Porges July 28,1923. They were the parents of two daughters- Erica(1926-1970) and Gisela(1927-1992). Kurt died in 1929. Margarete brought her daughters safely thru all the turmoil of World War II, including being bombed out 3 times in Berlin, and getting to the West side of Germany ahead of the Russians. She was a very strong willed woman. She moved to the United States in 1976 and made her home with her daughter Gisela and son-in-law Marion Maudlin. Both of her daughters preceded her in death. She died at St. Francis Hospital in Maryville, Mo.
