Leon T. “Hambone” Woods, 69 of Jesup, Ga. died Tuesday, February 3, 2015 after an extended illness. The Wayne County, Ga. native was a member of New Vision-New Life “Garage Church” on J.C. Hamilton Road in Jesup. He enjoyed fishing and riding his golf cart. He was predeceased by a daughter, Candace Byard and his parents, Atticus and Myrtle Lee Edenfield Woods.
Survivors are twin sons and their wives, Mickey and Carolyn Woods, Rickey and Joyce Woods, both of Jesup, Ga.; 5 sisters and a brothers-in-law, Martha Nell Thompson, Linda and Billy Blackwell, Jean Blackwell, Judy and Phil Echols, all of Jesup, Ga., Margie and Jimmy Mardison from Florida; a brother, Charles M. Woods and companion, Patricia Brantley of Jesup, Ga.; 10 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 11 A.M. Thursday, February 5, 2015 at Rinehart and Sons Chapel with Rev. William Sloan and Rev. Ricky Wood officiating. Interment will be in the George Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be his family and friends.

Visitation will be 10 to 11 A.M. prior to services at the funeral home.
