He m. (1) Eastham 21 Sept. 1727 Elizabeth Brown, prob. b. Eastham; d. prob. Chatham 25 Sept. 1762, per Shurtleff Gen; certainly bef. 18 March 1763; suggested as dau. of George and Mehitable (Knowles) Brown of Eastham but she would seem to be too young. Note that Stephen Smith , brother of John, m. Bathsuah Brown, also unidentified.
He m. (2) Chatham 7 April 1763 Lydia (Smith) Snow; b. Eastham 13 Oct. 1702; d. Litchfield Maine 16 May 1799, ae. 96y 6m; dau. of William and Hephzibah Smith. She m. (1) Eastham 24 Feb. 1741/2 Ebenezer Snow, b. Harwich 14 Feb. 1700/01; d. Eastham bet. 21 Dec. 1758 and 12 March 1759; son of Thomas and Hannah (Sears) Snow and a desc. of Pilgrim Stephen Hopkins . She may be the Liddah Smith enumerated by herself at Washington Maine in 1790.
The will of John Smith of Eastham, carpenter, dated 23 Oct. 1766 and proved 14 April 1767, mentioned wife Lydia (executrix), sons Reuben (executor) and benjamin Smith; daus. Elizabeth Rogers, Mehitable Baker and Rhoda Nicorsen, and son Thomas Smith.
Children (Smith) all rec. 22 Nov. 1752 at Chatham.
