Services will be at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, Feb. 4, 2015, in Boxwell Brothers Ivy Chapel with Lance Herrington, pastor of Paramount Baptist Church officiating. Burial will be in Llano Cemetery. Arrangements are by Boxwell Brothers Funeral Directors, 2800 Paramount Blvd.
Loneta was born Aug. 14, 1914, in Caddo, Okla., to B.F. and Myrtle Craghead. She married Paul Fuqua on Oct. 1, 1932, in Sayre, Okla. They lived in Amarillo and raised two daughters. Loneta and Paul celebrated their 50th anniversary in 1982. He preceded her in death on March 29, 1984.
Loneta’s passion was gardening, flowers, and cooking. She made the best coconut crème pies. Loneta was a member of Paramount Baptist Church.
She also was preceded in death by her parents; two daughters, Pat “Bo” Camarata and Louise “Lucy” Barrett; a son-in-law, Ross Camarata; 3 sisters; and 3 brothers.
Survivors include a son-in-law, Lee Barrett and wife Vera, of Amarillo; granddaughters, Celinda Barrett and Susan Thomason and husband James, all of Amarillo; grandsons, Steve Camarata and wife Pam and Scott Camarata and wife Shauna, all of Amarillo; a great-grandson, Cole Camarata, of Amarillo; and several nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to thank Ware Living Center, The Village, and Hospice Care of the Southwest for taking care of Loneta.
In lieu of flowers, memorials should be made to Paramount Baptist Church, 3801 S Western St, Amarillo, TX 79109; or to Hospice Care of the Southwest, 6600 Killgore Dr Ste 110, Amarillo, TX 79106.
